PRODUCTION NOTES

This production was the final graduate production at Theatre of Arts in Los Angeles. The cast was multi-lingual and in addition to the double cast grad students, there were several professional veteran actors Carlos Carrasco, Kent Minault, Will Dixon and Robert Sampson giving a balance to the youthful hijinks of this delightful classic.  

Using the lobby for the palace scenes and transforming the theatre into a lush pastoral forest of Arden with pools, rocks, logs and live crickets, set designer Juan Carlos Malpei created a sensory feast for the audience, who traveled with the actors inside the forest sitting on benches, rolling hills, and picnic blankets as the actors then performed the rest of the show in the round.
